Great to see these pictures after such a long time! Memorable concert, fantastic sopranosax playing and a clothespin at his shirtpocket.
My brother called me on this very evening. He said: ‘You want to see the Captain? Oosterpoort is out, Brinkhoeve in Roden will be the venue’. I recall: This was about two hours before the concert would start. ‘Yes’, I said. At the time I was 16 years old and a huge Bongo Fury fan. Had to find a guy at entrance to get ticket. Misty evening, cycling from Tolbert to Roden, very cold and very, very misty. It all went great, I got in and saw the most spectacular concert in my life. It was the Captain. That’s why. And of course, I was 16. Impressive and never to be forgotten. Don is still with me in everyday life. The Dus Blows Forward And the Dust Blows Back.
