Captain Beefheart's Iridescent Logic was an article written by Lester Bangs that appeared in Musician #29 in 1981. Three of Don's sketches, shown below, were scattered through the article.

The text was also published as Captain Beefheart's Far Cry in the Village Voice, October 1980. The sketches were not included with this version.
