Justin Sherill:

Generally considered the best of his later music. This album has perhaps the harshest sound, and may take some getting used to even if you've been listening to Trout Mask Replica. Frighteningly good.

Graham Johnston:

Don and the Magic Band sound extremely vexed about something on much of this album. This is their most abrasive and bitter album, but the material on here is so good that I found it fairly accessible on the first few listens. If you are feeling snotty, go for Doc at the Radar Station.
