I am desperately trying to find a reasonably cheap copy of "Decals" (on C.D. if possible). This is the only Beefheart music that I have not heard and it is regarded as one of his best records, so why no re-issue in Britain?

I was hoping that you could refer me to some people who could help me out. I'm mostly interested in the Clear Spot era Beefheart, if this helps you at all.

Dust Sucker! I was another sucker who went for it. I guess it's for looney completists and it does have it's good bits, no thanks to its compilers. The sleeve has the word morpheus on it so maybe that's where some of it came from! Anyone else spot that or have any thoughts on it. As for the sleeve notes! Bat Chain Puller IS about a train- how could it be a chain saw! Brick Bats? No it is not about a flat bat like wooden sheet for putting bricks in a kiln. Whoever wrote the notes didn't listen to the lyrics.

You guys were RIGHT about the new release "DUST SUCKER" whatever tape/s it has been scorced from, it sounds like an old casette at best, and a fourth generation cassete at worst the "live" tracks are mostly 3 rate bootleg quality, and some are dupes from GROW FINS. DONT GET TOO EXCITED, you will be disapointed like I AM....

20 years ago i scored a fantastic Beef Bootleg and i've never found ANYONE who knows of it. It reads- "Zappa Presents - Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Original 1976 Shiny Beast Version" + DER TOTEM POLE SAGT MAN STEHT AUF DEM GRUND + that is on front cover with a cool b\w watercolor - on back cover it says "Produced by FRANK ZAPPA & HERB COHEN. It was recorded 11\12\78 in NYC. It starts w\ Interview 78 - Apes Ma - When i see Mommy I Feel Like a Mummy - Poem - Human Totem Pole - Floppy Boots Stomp - Bat Chain Puller - Ode T' Alec - Harry Irene + 5 others! The art work is signed but cannot make out signature. All I know is it is one of the BEST bootlegs i've EVER HEARD!! Does ANYONE have this, or know of this album? I have only played twice in all these years, and would be happy to burn it on CD and reproduce artwork to send complete CD pakages to serious collectors!

Hi. I am selling a collection on behalf of the family of a a prog rock collector who has sadly passed away. The collection is a mixture of Beefheart, Zappa, Rio, Ange, Gong, VDGG, Zeuhl related, French prog, krautrock, Tangerine Dream and Prog. (hope I haven't left anything out.) It is an astonishing collection that has been built up (obviously) over a period of 30 years. I will be placing intermittent lists on ebay, although in the interests of logistics I will accept "priced" wants lists as well. I also have boxes of concert tapes (some video) ranging from Zappa, Mothers, Beefheart, Gong/daevid allen, VDGG/Hammill, Ange, etc. my ebay name "fiveknuckle" or go straight to my ebay sales http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&us erid=fiveknuckle&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=25 The current batch up for grabs are all 45's / 7" Singles Cheers! I have posted this message before, but my pc broke down, so here it is again. Does anyone know about the track Funeral Hill no.1? Its on the re-issue of Safe.../Mirrorman on the Disky-label Hoorn(Holland) 1991. Its a 2cd with brown label. Does anyone have a clue when was this track recorded? Is there a Funeral Hill no.2? For such a great track it is strange that it never was released on beefheart-compilations before. Nowhere you can find this title metioned in biographs/cd-linernotes/cd or vinylre-releases. Its clear that Don van Vliet won't record again. But noone tells something about his recordings, possibly in some vault. I never read that (as in Syd Barrett's empty vaults) Beefheart didn't have some tracks/tapes left over. So is there much material or not? And again doesn't the Funeral Hill no.1 track hint that such material must exist?

Well, what can I say. I have a huge problem. I can't seem to get hold of any Beefheart boots (probably because the only bootleg I have is Bob Dylans "Knight of the Hurricane" it's damn good but not Beefheart) but if anyone reads this and pity me (it's damn hard to start trading when you lack things to trade) please drop me a line (I'm desperate you know) We might be able to work out some kind of a deal (you getting my sweaty old socks and me a beefheart live-record, or something along those lines) Thanks! I love this page by the way. Beefheart is what listening's about.
