Contributing to beefheart.com's e-zine Clicks and Klangs
Music fans are generally an opinionated bunch and beefheart.com would like
to give you an opportunity to share those opinions with the world via the e-zine,
Clicks and Klangs.
If you are passionate about the music that you listen to, write about or perform,
and can write in a clear, informative, eloquent or humorous style then we'd be
very interested in featuring your musings on any forms of music from any era.
Whether your subject is adventurous, affecting, confounding, soothing or just
plain absurd; if it has moved you to tap away at your word processor then we want
to know all about it.
If you would like to write an article for Clicks and Klangs then I'd certainly
like to encourage you to do so. Contributions from readers are extremely welcome
so whether you already have an article in mind or would just like to offer your
services, please do get in touch by sending an e-mail to graham@beefheart.com
What should you write?
Essentially, the choice of subject and the style in which you write about it
is entirely your own.
In particular, we're always after probing interviews with innovative musicians
or special features on cutting-edge music, whether contemporary today or from
some long forgotten, once-defining Zeitgeist.
Alternatively you may prefer to write a review on an album release, a book
or a recent gig that you have seen. You may also have an old favourite that you
simply want to tell the world about which we would also like to feature.
Please try to give as much background to the artist or genre in question as
possible in these kind of pieces, and include some suggestions about where the
interested reader can find out more. One of the primary aims of Clicks and Klangs
is that readers are not alienated by reading articles about music that they do
not know written in a style that does not inform. You may love the music of Mister
King Jeroo, but other readers quite possibly do not know his recordings and want
to find out who he is and why you chose to write about him in the first
place.
Even if you don't have anything in particular in mind but simply want to offer
your general services, we'd be very pleased to hear from you.
